Finding my inner athlete is going to be a challenge. My inner athlete is hiding beneath a fatsuit and a fear of failure. So I have to make her rise up, shed the fatsuit and get moving. Somedays she is agreeable. Other times, not so much.
Early in the morning at spin class is usually when I feel most like an athlete. My former weightlifting legs kick into muscle memory and I feel good on the faux hill climbs.
Not today, though. After my G-Force the Bike outing yesterday, I was still quite deflated today, and I was moving at the speed of turtle.
“Fast legs! Fast legs!” Ironwoman Sarah screamed at us. I looked in the mirror. Were my legs even really moving?
Hurmph.
And I’m so bloody hungry today.
