We are home from the first Swim Bike Mom TrainCation event in “sunny” Florida! And “sunny” is most definitely in quotes. I am still trying to thaw out… Brrrrrrrrrrr.
I could write about all the fun things and crazy-cold weather, but I think pictures are worth a thousand words–so I’ve included a ton of them.
We started off the first night with seminars on nutrition and injury prevention by Brett Daniels and Jack Jones, two PTS Sports coaches. On Saturday, we had a super cold swim / instruction clinic followed by a ride and transition clinic. I gave a talk back at the conference center, and Brett finished up with a section on “How to Master Your First or Next 70.3 Race.”
Saturday night, we all went to dinner as a group (two and a half large tables!) which was a ton of fun.
Sunday was the run clinic, followed by a long run (3-10 miles, depending on the group), and a few dipped into the ocean for a 58-degree wetsuit swim. We wrapped up the weekend and most of us went home on Sunday afternoon.
I really enjoyed getting to know so many wonderful, fabulous and inspiring women. While our inaugual TrainCation may not have been perfect, I know we had a great time–everyone learned something, had a tons of laughs and certainly made memories for years to come.
…Until next time!
Finally, thanks to our awesome sponsors for some of the free swag and giveaways!
Looks like a fun time! Florida (and Arizona) were probably the best places to be in the U.S.
so fun, and so worth doing if the opportunity comes again. even in cold-ish weather, we were able to be outside and challenge ourselves. and i picked up a few new ideas and things to incorporate into my own training. best of all, meeting Meredith in person and knowing, “for reals,” that she is as genuine and kind (and funny and beautiful) in real life… and all the other tri-ladies I got to hang with!!!! Totally a great weekend!
The traincation was a blast! I learned so much and am grateful for the experience. Brett and Jack were very helpful and very easy to talk with. Meredith is just as I had hoped, very down to earth and a sweetheart! Thanks for putting it together!
Looks amazing! I hope to join you all some day at a future traincation!!
