Swim Bike Fuel and 3HU recommended Metabolic Efficiency Training™ as a great next step in our nutrition if that was something that interested you, felt right to try, and worked for you.
For those of you who were a part of SBF and 3HU and wondering about this please check out your FAQs and manuals for the recommendation for “metabolic efficiency” and the book by Bob Seebohar as it was recommended in the program.
Optimal Thrive, the new program, is teaching Metabolic Efficiency Training™ with Dina Griffin, an RD and certified sports dietitian who works with Bob Seebohar, author of the recommended book.
Metabolic Efficiency is the lifestyle I have adopted, and have adopted over the last 6 months.
Using MET, I lost 4% bodyfat and firmed up. And I am full of energy, NOT hungry and NOT craving sugar.
A common misconception is the Metabolic Efficiency Training™ implies NO CARBS or restrictive carbohydrate eating.
MET is about putting together foods that stabilize blood sugar (and insulin levels).
For athletes this means bringing in strategic placement of carbohydrates to support quality training sessions.
Nutrition periodization principles are very important to go along with MET when we are working with athletes (again, so that energy intake supports the training demands).
TRUTH:
This was NOT fast or furious weight loss. It was a steady 6 months of consistent habits. There is nothing EXTREME about MET.
TRUTH: A Final Message from Dina
THIS IS NOT A NO CARB DIET!! Remember, we get carbohydrates from vegetables, beans/legumes, nuts/seeds, fruits, whole grains, some dairy.
ALL OF THESE FOODS can fit in a metabolically efficient plan. If someone is telling you otherwise, please feel free to message me privately about this. For those who have joined the program, I am excited to meet you and be on the journey with you!
