1) I am down 6.6 pounds since Monday. Thank God. I have been religious about the Three Week Metabolic Boost, and treating my nutrition like it’s my job. And it’s paying off. Goal: take off nine pounds in the impossible month of December, and start the New Year off right. Who’s with me?? The hardest part is staying consistent and not letting the little things derail me completely. Especially the weekends. Keep my eyes on the main goal…the long term goals. That’s the struggle. I am really praying for a strong nutrition weekend—that will keep me motivated to keep going.
2) Coach Monster was back in the saddle today teaching spinning after the horrible crash at Ironman Arizona. Many of you have asked for updates on him – and I am happy to report that he seems to be doing well, despite aches, road rash and the DNF (and the frustration that goes with that).
However, he is very fortunate, considering. The rider behind him on the course who also crashed, Tyler, is still critical–but showing signs of recovery. I found a friend of Tyler’s through a forum – and it turns out that Tyler’s wife has a blog for him up and running: http://tylermccauley.wordpress.com/, so you guys can track his progress. Please continue to send your prayers up for Tyler and his family.
3) I think my training is back on track. Good training week so far. Massive swim (3800 meters yesterday), four mile brick and spin today. Getting a move on. Sweet Red and I are heading out on bikes tomorrow. I have a scheduled 10 mile run on Sunday. Let the Ironman training get its teeth in my skin. Less than 7 months.
4) I’m going to be doing a GIVEAWAY in December. I don’t usually do lots of these —so when I do them—I go big. Okay, so it’s not that big.
Well, yes… it is.
I’m so in love with my Finis SwimP3… It’s really made those long swims just so much more bearable! So, because I love you guys… I’m going to give one away to one lucky SBM’er for the holiday.
Okay. Okay. And just because you guys are the best……..I’m going to also give away this box of Peanut Butter and Chocolate GU. Hello, delicious.
And this awesome SpiBelt (only in red, so the dudes can enjoy as well)!
And finally, a $50 gift certificate from my favorite people at All3Sports.
And YOU get a car!
And You… okay, wait. I got carried away. 🙂
So, I’m gonna give away a few fun things… and I’ll keep you posted on how you can get them… stay tuuuuuuuuned.
5) Last but not least… TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO PRE-ORDER YOUR COPY of the book, Triathlon for the Every Woman. There’s been a ton of pre-orders, so it’s very exciting, and I can’t wait until they ship out. Estimated delivery from today is about 4 weeks. Go here to snag your copy before the public release in February. Last day last day last day. ww.SBMStore.wazala.com
Finally, happy Friday friends. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Rock on sister!
Thanks for the little bit of sunshine today! I needed that! I’m two weeks out today from having elbow and foot surgery and have not done anything but sit on my butt! Will hopefully be back on a bike next week but nothing with my elbow for two months! just means i’ll be working that much harder to accomplish my goals for next season including my first half IM! keep up the great work Meredith!!!
So…I bought the metabolic boost program weeks ago and haven’t following it yet. Very hard to get motivated to really get on track. Seeing your progress helps!
I’m going to have to check out the Finis Swimp3. I have a waterproof iPod bag and ear buds, but my ears always fill with water and I can’t hear very well.
Make room in the saddle….ready to get back up…..
Wow, just headed over to Tyler’s blog about the crash. Definitely puts things in perspective and makes me feel guilty for whining about minor inconveniences.
Looking forward to winning the swimp3 :-). Might get me back to the pool after nearly 5 months off.
I like Athleta brand one-piece suits in tall… I am long-torso’ed 🙂
