MY STORY
OVERCOMING FOOD NONSENSE
In December of 2015, I decided that I would never drink again. But that didn’t “cure” my food habits, behaviors and problems. In fact, it seems that it was just the beginning.
I have been a binge eater / emotional eater as long as I can remember. I have morphed into various states of food disorders through my whole life.
Each and every year, I make progress. But I don’t have it perfect.
Which is why I reached out to my two friends who are in recovery AND have expertise with nutrition and food to help me create a support group much like I did for “Grateful Sobriety.”
Brooke Randolph, Ronni Robinson and I have created: Overcoming Food Nonsense.
My good friend, Dina Griffin, RD, is also a part of the group as our expert in-house nutritionist.
The shame and the barriers to discussing struggles with addiction and disorders -alcohol, food, and ALL – should be destroyed, and obliterated, so that anyone (ANYONE!) who needs help will have it – and have it with LOVE and SUPPORT.
Through my work, I am seeking to break down the shame, the barriers, and the negative associations with taking a stand, grabbing our power, and deciding to work tirelessly through our struggles.
If alcohol is your struggle, I encourage you to join Grateful Sobriety – a support group for alcohol sobriety.
